I need help. I've watched several videos about VLANs and they didn't work.

We have a network with PVE, firewall and management switch. All VLANs are passing through the network port of the switch that connects to the PVE, and everything works correctly.

We need to connect the VMs to existing VLANs on the firewall because these VLANs are in production. If we use ovs-bridge, a new interface will be created. What process could we execute to use existing VLANs on VMs?

Another strange thing I've noticed is that when you point the VLAN ID at the interface, it seems to lock the VLAN and other devices lose access to the network.

Hey Wallace,

Thank you for the question on the forums. So if I am understanding correctly, you are just needing to connect VMs running on your Proxmox host to the rest of the network and VLANs that are running other production workloads?

It sounds like what you are experiencing isn't expected. Let me know are you uplinking your PVE host into a switch of some sort and then the firewall is also uplinked to the same switch? Is trunking involved between multiple switches?
