Minisforum has announced the Minisforum MS-A2 as the successor of the MS-A1 mini pc. What is really great about the Minisforum MS-A2 is that it brings the same type of hardware from the MS-01 to the AMD platform.
Also, this thing has a monster processor it looks like as it sports the AMD Ryzen 7945HX with 16 cores and 32 threads! Can you imagine this thing as a virtualization host with the 32 threads? In the marketing, Minisforum is showing a CPU performance ratio of 1.6 to 1 comparing the MS-A2 vs the MS-01.
While the MS-A1 only had a Realtek 2.5 GB adapter, the MS-A2, like the MS-01 (intel-based mini pc) has the (2) SFP+ ports and (2) RJ45 2.5 Gbps ports. Both of these are Intel-based as well.
It also brings the storage up to par with the MS-01 as it has (3) 2280 NVMe SSD slots. Also, it adds the PCIEx16 4.0 internal slot for PCIE expansion.
