If you are looking to add some serious storage to your Raspberry Pi 5, take note of the Seeed Studio Dual M.2 HAT+. It allows you to connect up to two M.2 drives like SSDs or AI accelerators. It also uses the faster PCI-e 3.0 switch compared with other boards that only support PCI-e 2.0.ย

With that said, you can get a full 8GB/s transfer bandwidth to expand the potential use cases for SBC in the home lab or edge. Take note of the features below:

  • Dual M.2 Slot with PCIe3.0 Speed:ย It uses the ASMedia ASM2806 PCIe 3.0 switch chip which pushes it well beyond the PCI-e 2.0 speeds of other boards
  • Stable Power Supply:ย It has additional Pogo Pins for extra power supply to help make sure you have a stable high-speed connection.
  • Multiple Size Support: It can accomodate 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 standard sizes
  • Back-mounted Design: It has a 40-pin GPIO free to use which makes it compatible with other Pi hats
  • User-friendly Design: It has an S-shaped FPC cable so it doesn't obstruct things like the micro SD card
  • Open Source Case:ย There is no officially compatible case currently. However, they have provided an adapted 3D printing case stp file. You can see the download here:ย Click to download

What's included when you buy it for $45? You get:

  • The board
  • 50mm cable
  • Screws for mounting
