I have put together some of the items in my home lab server rack that are definitely helpful for me. A few things are standard, but also a few things that maybe you didn't know about or have seen before for cable management, patch panels, server rack lights, RGB, and others. Take a look here at the products:
- StarTech.com 1U Server Rack Shelf - I have a few of these in my rack. I use these to hold my firewall, cable modem, and other smaller network gear. Also, I have one of these to house my (2) Minisforum MS-01's.
- StarTech.com Horizontal 1U Server Rack Cable Management - I use these to tidy up twinax cables that are really hard to make look good especially if you have differing lengths. You route your cable inside the cable management and it has the front panel that just snaps in.
- 1U Disassembled Rack Mount Cable Management Panel with Brush - These make entryways into your 19" rack look much better as it blacks out the rest of the space and you only see the brush as opposed to the inside of the rack.
- NavePoint 1U Steel Panel Light - I love this little rack light. It is super bright and easy to bolt in. Also, it is much less expensive than other "server rack lights" in this space. You will want to get a "switch" of sorts that you plug this into since it doesn't have an on off switch ironically which is less than ideal. However, it is still the least expensive type of rack light I have found.
- Fosmon Grounded Outlet with ON/Off Switch (2 Pack) - This is similar to what I am using as a cheap light switch for my server rack lights.
- Cable Matters 1U 19-Inch 24-Port 10Gbps Cat6A Ethernet Patch Panel - I really like these patch panels with keystone jacks. This way you can use regular patch cables and not have to punch down the cables to the patch panel. instead, you just plug them in on the back side like a normal wall jack and then come out of the front with your much shorter cables to keep things tidy.
- CyberPower OR2200PFCRT2U PFC Sinewave - I run Cyberpower UPS'es and they have been fantastic in my home lab. Not a moments trouble with them.
- Leadrise 50-Pack M6 x 16mm Computer Rack Mount Cage Screws - These are typical rack cage nuts and screws that are always good to have extras around for mounting rack gear.
- Govee RGBIC LED Strip Lights, Smart LED - This is a pretty cool RGB LED light strip kit. I just have something similar strung in the inside perimenter of my server rack where you can't see the lights. Then the ambient light glows from the perimeter and looks amazing.
- StarTech.com 1U Server Rack Shelf - I have a few of these in my rack. I use these to hold my firewall, cable modem, and other smaller network gear. Also, I have one of these to house my (2) Minisforum MS-01's.
- StarTech.com Horizontal 1U Server Rack Cable Management Finger Duct - I use these to tidy up twinax cables that are really hard to make look good especially if you have differing lengths. You route your cable inside the cable management and it has the front panel that just snaps in.
